Missionaries Rescued from Danger

(26 Nov 2009)

Daiwik and Kuval were showing a movie about Jesus in a village much like this one when men armed with knives sneaked up and attacked.

Gospel for Asia-supported missionaries Daiwik Chatterjee and Kuval Dutta were showing a film on the life of Jesus to an eager village crowd in South Asia when men armed with knives sneaked up behind them and tried to attack them.

The missionaries tried to help the gang understand about the film, but their attackers didn't want to listen. Instead, they began destroying the film equipment, cutting off the generator connection and throwing it on the ground. They also damaged the DVD player.

The mob then tried to attack the men with knives and other weapons. By this time, the audience, which had numbered about 150, had all fled . . . except for one person. This man stood by the missionaries and urged them to pack up all their things and leave immediately.

He then escorted them in safety to the home they were staying at for the evening. He left, and neither Daiwik nor Kuval ever found out who he was. They truly believe the Lord intervened to protect them from danger.

GFA leaders rejoice for the rescue of these dear brothers and ask for prayer for the Lord's protection upon film teams like this one and their ministry equipment as they go forth in Asian villages with the news of Jesus' love.
