Your decision will make a vast difference in the life of a little boy or girl-through a quality education and, most important, the opportunity to hear about Jesus.

But did you ever stop to think that your sponsorship makes an even greater and farther-reaching impact? Let me tell you what I mean.

Several years ago, the nearly 700 million Dalits ("Untouchables"), low-caste and tribal people of Asia-segregated from society and oppressed because of their status-declared their search for social freedom in a religion of their choice. When reports started to come in that large numbers of these people desired to turn to Christianity, we began to pray for a way to reach them with the love of Jesus and the message of their worth in His sight.

One day, the Lord spoke so clearly to my heart that I will never forget it. While sleeping in the early hours of the morning, I had a dream. I stood before a vast field of wheat-golden, beautiful and ripe. I suddenly understood that this was the harvest Jesus spoke of in the Scriptures, and I was overcome with excitement to realize that the Lord was giving us the opportunity to rescue these millions of souls from eternity in hell.

But as I ran toward the field, a raging river stopped me in my tracks. I knew it was too wide and treacherous to cross. I could go no farther.

My heart broke. I could only look at the harvest, unable to bring it in. I stood there weeping, feeling helpless and full of despair.

I woke up and realized that the Lord was providing a way to reach these spiritually hungry millions. The bridge was our ministry to their children.

This outreach, aptly named Bridge of Hope, has already become just that. Most of these boys and girls, because of their social status, have never had an opportunity for any kind of education. They've never had the chance to dream about what they want to be when they grow up. But with caring friends all around the world, we're helping change all that.

This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, an event that God Himself has orchestrated. In terms of magnitude, I believe it has the potential to equal-perhaps surpass-that of the Reformation. And God has allowed you and me to be part of it!
