Spread across South Asia is a forgotten people too numerous to count. They’re despised by their countrymen and viewed as subhuman. Even the shadows they cast are believed to be contaminated by their filth. They are the Dalits, the "Untouchables" of South Asia.
Their life is valued at less than the animals whose dung they clean from the streets. Banned from the rest of society, they find employment removing rubbish, discarding animal carcasses and cleaning out latrines and sewers.
When you purchase items from our website, you’re choosing to send more than a chicken, a cow or a sewing machine. You’re sending hope that can forever change a life.
Cows supply milk that can be sold. A sewing machine for a widow creates a career, and chickens supply an income. Best of all, Christ's love shines through. These gifts will change lives.
Gospel for Asia is committed to breaking the cycle of poverty through income-producing livestock, vocational training, and tools that help people provide for themselves.
When you normally think of chickens and goats, you don't think "breaking the cycle of poverty." But for a Dalit or other marginalised family, they can mean freedom from poverty.
Each year, Gospel for Asia helps tens of thousands of impoverished families escape the oppressive cycle of poverty. By providing livestock, training, tools and ongoing support we enable them to escape poverty.
And we do all of it in the name of Christ.

While Dalits live in countries that are closed to Western missionaries, by God’s grace He has positioned Gospel for Asia directly in the middle of this incredible opportunity. Thousands of missionaries, dozens of radio broadcasts and millions of pieces of literature are reaching Dalit and low-caste homes. And through GFA’s Bridge of Hope outreach to children, the message of God’s love is being spread as well—one child at a time, one family at a time.
Today, through Bridge of Hope, little children in Dalit communities are receiving an education and learning English, helping them break out of the cycle of poverty and oppression. They enjoy one or two hot meals a day and receive a free yearly medical checkup. Most of all, children who believed they were worthless are learning of their great value to a Creator who loves them dearly.
Because of Bridge of Hope, churches now meet in areas previously hostile to the Gospel. Often, when parents see that missionaries care about a need that is very important to them, their opposition melts away. And as children come home singing Christian songs and telling Bible stories, entire families are joyfully embracing salvation in Christ.
