Kantilal moved to this big city, where he found a job and began assisting a pastor.
But less than a month later, another challenge presented itself. Kantilal’s feet became so swollen that, at one point, he couldn’t even walk. The doctor told Kantilal he was suffering from a kidney problem.
“Why is this happening to me?!” Kantilal cried out to God.
The young man knew if he went home and gave up his ambition of serving the Lord, his father would pay for his treatment, and he would be well again. The temptation pulled at his heart, and he sank deeper into discouragement. He remained there until he reached a point of crisis.
If I sit quietly like this, he thought, nothing is going to happen.
Kantilal fasted and cried out to God for healing, blessing and direction, and the Lord answered: He made it clear to Kantilal that He wanted him to serve in full-time ministry and that he needed to go to Bible college to prepare. Kantilal quit his job, went to see his wife briefly, and not long after, arrived at a Bible college.
A month later, Kantilal’s father called him. He yelled at Kantilal and told him to leave the college and take care of his wife. The harsh words were meant to dissuade Kantilal from serving the Lord, and he struggled.
Kantilal wept during his times with the Lord, and he didn’t tell anyone about his family situation or his persistent health problems.
