That’s according to the World Bank. The United Nations estimates there are 258 million widows worldwide and that one in 10 widows lives in extreme poverty

Widows have numerous needs. And they long to be loved and cared for. By giving towards Widows Ministry, you’ll help GFA missionaries help with their grief and provide a support system that can help through the difficulties of widowhood and provide hope to widows in Asia and Africa.

There are approximately 40 million widows in South Asia. In cultures where marriage is a woman’s sole basis for social and economic rights, their livelihoods can be destroyed when they are widowed.

Widows in Asia and Africa are frequently ostracised, even by their own families. They have no one to care for them, and no one to talk to. Women’s Ministry can provide both individual relationships and community to them.

GFA missionaries regularly minister to widows in the communities they serve. They compassionately care for these precious women, demonstrating Christ’s love by helping them with everyday chores, listening to them, encouraging them, praying for them and providing them with food and other essentials as well as income-generating gifts to empower them to earn a living for themselves and their children.

Missionaries can find and minister to these abandoned women who are hidden from society.
