How often?

GFA-supported National Missionaries have dedicated their lives to sharing Christ’s love with others. They minister in a variety of places, living sacrificially and compassionately responding to the needs around them. As members of their communities, these men and women have unique insight into the needs and challenges within the community.

They are burdened when people are plagued by disease caused by a lack of clean water and proper sanitation. They seek to provide solutions, like Jesus Wells and toilets. They’re moved with compassion for widows and leprosy patients whom others have scorned, and they seek to care for their needs.

These courageous labourers are on the front lines. God is using them mightily, helping transform entire communities, but the work is far from finished. Billions of people still have never heard of Christ’s love.

Missionary Sponsorship

It only takes as little as £25 to have a huge impact in providing for a national missionary so they can minister to families in need and show the kindness of God to those who need to experience it.

What is a National Missionary?

National Missionaries work full-time within needy areas of their own cultures or very similar ones. They already know or easily learn the local dialect and customs of the Asian and African villages where they share Christ’s love.

Through support from our partners (what you may refer to as donors), GFA World provides both male and female, single and married missionaries and each one plays a vital role in reaching Asia and Africa with the love of Jesus Christ.

I had no hope of healing and was completely helpless. I thank Jesus for delivering me, and also thank these three sisters (National Missionaries) who spent their time in prayer for my deliverance.

Changing lives eternally

With national missionary sponsorship, we have the opportunity to change lives not only here and now, but eternally in Asia and Africa. Did you know that around 80,000 people die every day in the 10/40 Window? Some of their lives may end without ever hearing about the love of God. We can make a choice today that will forever change the fate of those who have yet to hear.

How are Missionaries Reaching Asia and Africa with Jesus’ Love?

These national workers are ministering much like the Christians in the early Church did, sharing Christ’s love, caring for the sick and needy and leading local fellowships. He or she is working with others in the area to touch their communities with the hope of Jesus.

Depending on their situation, their ministry may include many forms of outreach:

  • Child Sponsorship Programme– Rescuing Asia and Africa’s poorest children through education, love and the hope of Jesus.
  • Bibles and Literature Ministry– Printing and distributing Bibles and Gospel tracts in many languages.
  • Film Ministry – Showing Asian and African-made film about Jesus to those who don’t know Him.
  • Radio Broadcasts– Speaking the love of Jesus in local languages.
  • Leprosy Ministry– Caring for shunned leprosy patients and their families.
  • Jesus Wells– Transforming villages, both physically and spiritually, by providing pure clean water.
  • Slum Ministry– Reaching out to the millions who live in Asia and Africa’s massive shantytowns.
  • Women’s Ministry– Building up Asian women in Christ through literacy, fellowship and discipleship.
  • Compassion Services– Ministering to the practical needs of people in Jesus’ name.

A Slum Child’s Return

The faintest hints of the sun’s rays begin to streak across the sky and bounce off the plastic-tarp rooftops as one man makes his way along the narrow alleyways of the slum. Some people recognize him and smile; others take little notice. Many have known him since childhood. The man steps around dirty puddles and piles of garbage; he ducks under low-hanging wash lines, strung between houses and laden with wet clothes. Every morning, Pastor Martin walks this route with purpose and prayer.
